About Me

Hi, I’m Jamie, and I’m so glad you’re here.

I have 24 years of experience in the dental field, working with patients of all ages and seeing firsthand how oral function, breathing, posture, and overall health are deeply connected. Over time, I noticed patterns—mouth breathing, poor oral rest posture, sleep struggles, and tension—that often go unaddressed but greatly impact quality of life. That curiosity led me to orofacial myofunctional therapy.

I am truly passionate about helping people feel better and function better. I believe in meeting each patient where they are, taking time to listen, and creating realistic, supportive therapy plans. Education and encouragement are just as important to me as the exercises themselves.

I am a lifelong learner who values continued education, mentorship, and collaboration so I can provide thoughtful, up-to-date care. Whether I’m working with a child or an adult, my goal is to walk alongside you and support lasting change.

I offer appointments in person as well as virtual sessions for flexibility and convenience. I would be honored to be part of your journey toward better function and better health.

4 GOALS OF MYOFUNCTIONAL THERAPY

Nasal Breathing

Breathing through the nose instead of the mouth, both while awake and asleep.

Lip Seal

Keeping the lips closed and sealed together at rest.

Correct tongue posture

Resting the tongue in the proper position, with the tip against the roof of the mouth just behind the front teeth.

Correct swallowing pattern

A pattern where the tongue elevates to the roof of the mouth, and the teeth meet to complete the swallow without a "tongue thrust" where the tongue pushes forward.

Myofunctial Therapy Fun Facts

  • It uses 20 craniofacial muscles: OMT helps coordinate the 20 muscles that control movements in your face, cheeks, lips, tongue, and jaw.

  • OMT can significantly improve sleep quality. The exercises strengthen the tongue and other oral and throat muscles to help keep the airway open during sleep.

  • Long-lasting results: A study showed that 70–80% of people still had correct swallowing and tongue posture five years after completing therapy.
